Passport Wedding Invitation DIY: Destination Love
As a travel enthusiast and soon-to-be married, I wanted our wedding invitations to reflect our love of exploration and adventure. Instead of traditional invitations, I decided to create my own passport wedding invitations that would transport our guests to the destination of our special day.
What Materials and resources I used:
· Minc Foil Heather Activated Applicator ( for rose gold foil pressed look)
· Cricut Explorer (EASIER to cut the templates)
· Full Color Printer
· Cardstock or thick paper
· Passport-sized templates (approx. 3.5 x 5.5 inches)
· Engraved Planes from Amazon
. Crafty rose Twine from Dollar Tree
Design Process
(Get one template from Canvas or Etsy if your schedule is full)
1. I started by designing the passport cover, complete with our names, wedding date, and a custom crest.
2. Next, I created the inside pages, featuring:
1. A welcome message
2. Wedding details (date, time, location)
3. A "Boarding Pass" for RSVPs
3. To add an extra touch, I included a few travel-inspired elements, such as:
1. A "travel tips" section with accommodation information
2. Small engraved plane with initials and date.
3. A map of the wedding venue
Assembly and Embellishments
1. I printed the designs in Canvas and used Minc Foil Applicator to ensure the foil adhered to the toner inks.
2. I cut all passports, boarding passes and other information cards in my Cricut to size.
3. To give it the last travel detail, I added twine and added the planes keeping the passport and boarding pas together.
Creating our passport wedding invitations was a labor of love that reflected our shared passion for travel and adventure. Our family and friends loved receiving these unique invitations, and they set the tone for an unforgettable wedding celebration.
A Few Tips
1. Consider adding a personalized message or photo to make each invitation extra special. ( we added engagement photos)
2. If you're short on time, prioritize the most important details and simplify the design. ( Foil can be labor intense and should be optional)
