The older I get, the more I understand the quiet exits — the soft goodbyes that were never spoken aloud. I see now why some hearts slip away from the noise, not out of bitterness, but out of self-preservation. It’s not that they stopped caring. It’s that they started choosing peace.

There’s a kind of freedom that comes with solitude — not loneliness, but the kind where your soul exhales. Where your mind rests. Where your heart beats without having to perform. The world tells us to be visible, to be loud, to stay relevant — but there’s a quiet rebellion in choosing to be still. To be unseen, but whole.

Somewhere along the journey, you realize not everyone is meant to go with you. Not every connection feeds you. Not every space deserves your energy. And so you withdraw — not to hide, but to heal. You learn to protect your joy. To water your own roots. To become a sanctuary for yourself.

There is beauty in disappearing — in becoming so full within that you no longer need the world to reflect your worth back to you. You no longer crave the spotlight. You crave softness, safety, slowness. You crave mornings where you wake up in peace. Nights where your spirit doesn’t ache.

And maybe, just maybe, that’s the real glow-up:

Not being known by many, but being deeply known by yourself.
