Grateful 🖤🥹
Ever just take a step back and admire your books? I can’t afford bookshelves yet so I made do for now ☺️🖤
Most of my books have been gifted to me by the author and are signed, and a lot were gifted from booktok 🥹 To be given the gift of love and life means so much to me.
I have had a really rough couple of years with my health, especially my memory. I was finally diagnosed with post concussive encephalopathy and that combined with the tumors caused the early onset dementia. I’ve been treated already for the dementia the last five years but I’ve declined severely. I don’t remember anything I read but that also means I get to re-read by books for the first time all over again ☺️ My drs said to keep reading even if I don’t remember because it’ll help with brain activity. Physical books I’ve noticed tho I remember more but I think it’d because I can always look at them and hold them where as my ebooks I forget that I even have them lol
My children all love to read so my collection will be passed on to them when they’re old enough. They’re teenagers atm. I share my YA books with them for now lol I have a max of 10 yrs left but with my other health issues could be less. I’m hoping to grow my collection big enough to be considered a library by the time my mini me’s inherit it 🥹
Every book I was gifted thru Amazon by a friend (you are all my friends ☺️) I tape the little paper with the note on it from the sender so when you pull out a book, the note is there right when you open the book. I’ve thought about leaving post it notes with a note to the kids randomly in my books. I found some really cute ones on SHEIN I wanna get. Like for example right before a spicy scene leave a note over it saying cover your eyes! Or just something dumb or funny or like if a scene reminds me of something or if I’m reading something that I think they should learn from. Idk. I’ll figure it lol
If you want to see any books pulled out just lemme know. Once I can afford photo props I’m gonna take pics of every single book. I mean have the open videos and pics when I got them but I want like, Pinterest worth pictures displaying their beauty lol I have a lot of different genres. Then I’m gonna print the pictures and put them in a book so that way I’ll have a record of them all, plus a record to pass down to the kids so they know what books are there. But it’ll be like a scrapbook. With tropes and quotes and stuff. Does that sound dumb? I think it’ll be a good project to start on. Plus it’ll help me remember as well lol
I hope your weekend is great! 🖤💕✨
