The story of the elder
"Pee Khe" is the name of the duke bird, or the female pattern that was injured as a child, which was rescued and restored to nature three or four months ago. Every day I come back to Father Thong.
Because she was injured when she fell from the nest, she was only in a cage from childhood to adulthood. When she returned to nature, she was still not good at nesting. It would take a long time to learn like a normal bird. She hovers around the house, lives on a branch of a tree on the eaves of a tree as a sleeping place. And the food also comes to ask for Father Thong every day.
Because she is not good at eating or may not be able to earn a living yet, she calls to pour food twice a day in the morning. She will stick to the same branches regularly and listen to the sound. When she hears the opening of the door, she will immediately call Father Thong. She cries like she complains that he is late. I am hungry to faint.
This cuckoo is quite smart. Besides saying that she would call Father Thong every time the cat threatened each other about food, she knew that no one would starve, so she often dropped the baby in Father Thong's hand, and I was determined to exchange it for food.
A week ago, Father Thong Mee opened the door of the room and was shocked because he flew into the house, came to the road and cried a few times, as if to tell something and then flew away. Father Thong Mee didn't think anything. But the next day, he disappeared and didn't ask for food like the old. Father Thong Mee went out and called around the house, which usually would cry or fly to, but was quiet. There was no sign.
But after two days, he flew back and called for food every day as usual. Like nothing happened, Father Thongmi thought that she would hang out. And during the day, two days ago, while walking next to the house, he heard the cuckoo cry. Looking up at the tree, he found him clinging to the branches, and beside each other there was another cuckoo, black. When Father Thongmi approached, they both cried and flew.
So I think she's still a lovely (first) bird daughter. She probably lives next door like this all her life, can't find food, which is not a problem. The good thing is that she's not caged in her whole life, returning to nature as she should be.
But the black cuckoo that met together, which should be male, is not sure now that friends or girlfriends! Or Father Thong may be about to have a son-in-law! For Ougas to try to take pictures to show off.

หลายคนเจอนกกาเหว่าร้องหรือเห็นบินวนแถวบ้านแล้วสงสัยว่า “เป็นลางอะไรไหม” หรือบางพื้นที่เรียกปน ๆ กันไปจนกลายเป็นคำค้นอย่าง “นกฉีกผ้าร้าย” ด้วย ส่วนตัวบ้านฉันเคยมีช่วงที่ได้ยินนกกาเหว่าร้องตอนกลางคืนเหมือนกัน ตอนแรกตกใจเพราะเสียงค่อนข้างแหลมและเรียกเป็นจังหวะซ้ำ ๆ พอไปอ่านเพิ่มถึงรู้ว่า บางทีเขาอาจร้องช่วงใกล้เช้ามืด/หัวค่ำ หรือเป็นช่วงฤดูผสมพันธุ์ เลยทำให้เรารู้สึกว่า “ร้องกลางคืน” ทั้งที่จริงอาจอยู่ในเวลาที่เงียบมากจนได้ยินชัด เรื่อง “นกกาเหว่า ความเชื่อ” ในไทยมีหลายแบบมาก บางคนเชื่อว่าได้ยินกาเหว่าร้องเป็นสัญญาณของฤดูกาล เปลี่ยนฝนเปลี่ยนร้อน หรือเป็นสัตว์ที่มาเตือนให้ระวัง แต่จากประสบการณ์คนเลี้ยง/ช่วยนกบาดเจ็บ จะเห็นอีกมุมว่าเขาเป็นนกที่ฉลาดและจำคนได้ โดยเฉพาะตัวที่คุ้นกับบ้านเรา ถ้าเคยได้รับอาหารหรือเคยถูกช่วยไว้ เขาจะกลับมาหาเป็นกิจวัตรจนเราคิดว่า “เหมือนมาเยี่ยม” มากกว่าจะเป็นลางอะไรเหนือธรรมชาติ ถ้าสังเกต “นกกาเหว่าตัวผู้” กับตัวเมีย (แบบที่เห็นพี่เหว่าในภาพระยะใกล้ ขนลายจุดสีน้ำตาลขาว ตาออกแดง ๆ) บางชนิดตัวผู้จะสีเข้มหรือดำกว่า และพฤติกรรมช่วงคัดคู่จะชัดขึ้น คือเริ่มมาเป็นคู่ เกาะกิ่งใกล้ ๆ กัน ร้องโต้ตอบกัน หรือบินตามกันสั้น ๆ รอบพื้นที่เดิม ๆ ถ้าที่บ้านเริ่มเห็นตัวสีดำมาอยู่ใกล้ ๆ ก็อาจเข้าช่วง “นกคัดคู” ได้เหมือนกัน แต่ก็ต้องดูต่อเนื่อง เพราะบางทีอาจเป็นแค่ตัวอื่นในพื้นที่มาแย่งอาหารหรือมาอาศัยจุดเกาะปลอดภัย สำหรับคนที่อยากได้ “ภาพนกกาเหว่า” แบบชัด ๆ แนะนำลองเฝ้าช่วงเช้าตรู่หรือเย็นใกล้เวลาที่เขามาขออาหาร/มาเกาะประจำ จุดสำคัญคืออย่าเข้าใกล้เร็ว ใช้ซูมแทน และหลีกเลี่ยงแฟลช เพราะทำให้นกตกใจได้ง่าย ถ้ามีนกที่ยังหัดหากินเองไม่เก่ง การทำ “จุดให้อาหาร” แบบมีหลังคาเล็ก ๆ กันฝนกันแดด (ตามไอเดียในเรื่องพี่เหว่า) จะช่วยให้เขากลับมากินเป็นที่ ลดการเข้าบ้านหรือบินชนกระจกได้ สุดท้าย ถ้าพบว่านกบาดเจ็บจริง ๆ ควรลดการจับเล่น แม้จะเชื่องจนแตะตัวได้ก็ตาม ให้พักในที่เงียบ อุ่น ปลอดภัย แล้วติดต่อหน่วยช่วยเหลือสัตว์ป่าหรือคนที่มีประสบการณ์ก่อนปล่อยคืนธรรมชาติ เพราะเป้าหมายคือให้เขากลับไปใช้ชีวิตบนกิ่งไม้ ใต้ใบไม้สีเขียว และค่อย ๆ เรียนรู้การหากินได้ด้วยตัวเองเหมือนนกทั่วไป
