Who are YOU when life is good? More importantly...who are YOU when life falls apart?
Anybody can smile when the bills are paid, the relationship is thriving, and the blessings keep rolling in. Character gets revealed when the pressure hits. Scripture says, "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he." (Proverbs 23:7) Pressure doesn't create your character...it exposes it.
Me? I'm unapologetically ME. I'll bend over backwards and go to war for the people I love. But if you don't like me today...there's a good chance you won't like me tomorrow...or six months from now...or next year either. 😂 I'm not changing my convictions just to fit somebody else's comfort zone.
I believe HONESTY is one of the greatest forms of love you can give. Real love tells the truth. Sometimes the truth hugs you...sometimes it steps on your toes. Proverbs 27:6 says, "Faithful are the wounds of a friend." A real friend would rather hurt your feelings for a moment than watch your life fall apart in silence.
I read two quotes that stuck with me:
"People can't resonate with a spirit they don't have."
"People will pray to God for a blessing, then celebrate in sin." 🤦🏾♂️
That second one hit different. We ask God to open doors, then keep trying to sneak through the windows He closed. 😂
Stop chasing the crowd. Chase Christ. Be the kind of person you're praying to meet. Walk in integrity when nobody's watching. Like attracts like, but righteousness attracts God's favor.
I'm not a preacher. I'm not a pastor. I'm just a man trying every day to become more like Christ and be a good man.
And one more thing...
Don't confuse being a Good Man with being a "Nice Guy." Jesus was full of grace and truth. He loved people deeply, but He still flipped tables when holiness was being disrespected. I know my worth because my identity is in Christ—not in people's opinions.
Stay humble. Stay honest. Stay faithful. God will handle the rest.
