Is he disabled?
Let me tell you about my 5 year old dog, technically a full grown adult, but he acts like a tiny puppy 90% of the time.
Last night, he tried to squeeze into my lap like he did when he was 8 weeks old, never mind he’s 40 pounds now. This morning, he whined at the door for 10 minutes because I didn’t give him an extra treat before work, then carried his favorite stuffed bear to his bed like it’s his security blanket.
I keep wondering why don’t animals grow out of this baby behavior like humans do? We go from crying for snacks to paying bills, but he still begs to sleep at my feet, gets scared of the vacuum, and acts like I’m abandoning him when I run errands. He’s not a puppy anymore, but he sure doesn’t act like it. Do your adult pets do this too?

both adult cats and dogs have about the same mental capacity as human toddlers, so they really are just our little babies forever 🥰
