My morning as a dental hygienist
Everyday is different today happened to be very chill. #dayinmylife #rdhlife #fyp #hygienist #dental
Working as a registered dental hygienist offers a unique blend of predictability and surprises every day. From my experience, mornings often start with a clear schedule, but patient needs can quickly shift, requiring flexibility and quick thinking. For instance, I recently had a patient scheduled for a limited exam who decided to stay for a full cleaning, freeing up my original appointment slot. These kinds of adjustments keep the day interesting and underscore the importance of being prepared for changes. I find that keeping a positive attitude and being ready to provide care even when plans change is key to maintaining a smooth workflow. Another aspect I enjoy is the personal interaction with patients, many of whom may seek second opinions or change their treatment preferences last minute. This highlights the need for a hygienist to be communicative and understanding as patients navigate their dental health decisions. Appropriate preparation, such as a quick 'pick me up' to start the day, is something I find beneficial for maintaining energy and focus. Overall, my mornings as a dental hygienist combine the technical aspects of oral care with dynamic patient management, making every day unique yet rewarding in its own way.
