Beginner crochet project idea Granny Square Shorts
Materials Used:
Yarn: Red Heart weight 4 acrylic
Hook size: 5.5mm
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Stitch marker
Step 1: Make 2 granny squares big enough to fit your hip
(I have a granny square tutorial on my page)
Step 2: fold each square in half and place them side by side. Use waist to crotch measure to determine how far you should stitch to. (Second slide, orange line). Stitch both front and back.
Step 3: stitch the legs. (Second slide, blue lines)
Step 4: do a row of double crochets round the leg holes and the waist. (Second slide, pink lines)
Step 5: do a chain as long as you need, to be used as a draw string.
And you’re done!
Optional: Pockets
Make two granny squares as big as you want your pockets to be. Use a tapestry needle to sew them onto to shorts. Where you place them, is up to you. I placed mine on the sides.
