Meals I Made for My Toddler
Here are some meals I made for my toddler who can sometimes be picky especially when it comes to eating meats. She’s been loving the go-gurts though and never complains about fruits.
Monday 🍚
Chicken and rice with cucumbers and a go-gurt
Tuesday 🍣
Salmon with buttery mashed potatoes, salad with ranch and grapes
Wednesday 🥣
Cereal with cheese puff popcorn and grapes. On Wednesdays if there is something she request that week, I will make it for her. She requested cereal so she got cereal. Lol
Thursday 🍔
Bunless cheese burger with French fries, grapes and a pickle on the side

As a parent navigating the challenges of feeding a toddler, I've learned that variety and flexibility are key. Toddlers can be surprisingly unpredictable with their food preferences, especially regarding meats. To keep mealtime enjoyable and less stressful, I focus on mixing tried-and-true favorites with small treats and plenty of fruits, which my little one adores. For example, including go-gurts provides a convenient and appealing source of calcium and probiotics that she eagerly accepts. I also find that pairing proteins like salmon or chicken with colorful vegetables and familiar sides, such as mashed potatoes or rice, helps create balanced meals without overwhelming her palate. Allowing her to make requests during the week, like cereal on 'Wacky Wednesday', empowers her to participate in meal choices, fostering a positive attitude towards eating. Including grapes and cucumber slices offers a refreshing contrast and encourages healthy snacking habits. Incorporating different textures, such as crispy French fries alongside a bunless cheeseburger, adds excitement to meals while maintaining a focus on nutrition. I’m cautious about avoiding processed sugars and overly salty foods, aiming instead for natural flavors and simple seasonings like ranch dressing or butter. What’s worked best is staying patient and keeping an open mind about what my toddler might enjoy each day. Sharing meals and turning eating into a playful experience reduces mealtime battles and supports her growing independence and palate exploration. With this approach, picky eating is manageable and mealtime becomes a chance for connection and nourishment.
