The VVITCH(2016) : Word from Cinematic
It's a movie that started watching because I wanted to practice English and write down the vocabulary while watching. We left it on the phone since 2019.
🎬: This movie, The VVITCH, is so popular that it has become so popular that it has really conveyed the atmosphere that it felt like it was in Europe's dark age society. In other words, life at that time was awkward. It felt like social regulations were wrinkled away, and looking at the present point of view, it now looks like a belief, mostly infuriating. It's called a movie that really gives you a good experience and understanding of medieval Europe. 🧙🏼♂️

ถ้าเสิร์ชหา “vvitch” แล้วลังเลว่าจะดูดีไหม เราว่า The VVitch (2016) เป็นหนังที่เหมาะกับคนชอบความสยองแบบ “หลอนเงียบๆ” มากกว่าสายจั๊มป์สแกร์ค่ะ จุดเด่นคือบรรยากาศชนบทที่รกร้าง (wilderness) และความอึดอัดของครอบครัวพิวริตันที่ถูก “ขับไล่/เนรเทศ” ออกจากชุมชน (banish) แล้วต้องเริ่มต้นชีวิตใหม่ใกล้ป่ามืดๆ มีรั้ว (fence) กระท่อมเล็กๆ (hovel) ยุ้งข้าว (barn) ทุกอย่างทำให้รู้สึกว่าความกลัวมันค่อยๆ คืบเข้ามาเอง อีกอย่างที่ทำให้หนังเรื่องนี้สนุกสำหรับคนอยากฝึกภาษาอังกฤษ คือบทพูดมีความเป็นภาษาเก่าๆ และศัพท์สายศาสนาค่อนข้างเยอะ เหมือนกำลังอ่านงานเขียนยุคเก่าที่มีคำอย่าง thou / thee / thy / thine โผล่มาบ่อย ทำให้เราได้ฝึกจับใจความจากบริบทมากขึ้น แนะนำวิธีดูแบบที่เราทำแล้วเวิร์ก: เปิดซับอังกฤษ (ถ้าไหว), พอเจอคำที่เดาไม่ได้ให้จดไว้ 5–10 คำต่อรอบ ไม่ต้องจดทุกคำเดี๋ยวหมดอารมณ์ แล้วค่อยกลับมาหาความหมายทีหลัง มุมศัพท์ที่มักเจอใน The VVitch จะวนอยู่กับ 1) ความเชื่อและศาสนา เช่น gospel, scripture, baptism/baptize, confess, repentant, salvation 2) อารมณ์ด้านลบ/ความทุกข์ยาก เช่น misery, grief, hatred, slander 3) ธรรมชาติและชีวิตเกษตร เช่น pasture, brook, fetch, bake, woolen, cloak และ 4) ความมืดมนเชิงสัญลักษณ์อย่าง serpent, lucifer, witchcraft ซึ่งพอเรารู้ความหมายแล้วจะจับ “ธีม” ของหนังได้ง่ายขึ้นว่ามันพูดเรื่องศรัทธา ความหวาดระแวง และบาป (iniquity) แบบไหน ถ้าคุณดูแล้วรู้สึกว่ามันเดินเรื่องช้า ลองโฟกัสรายละเอียดภาพแทน เช่น โปสเตอร์ที่ชอบเล่นกับสัญลักษณ์ความชั่วร้ายหลายรูปแบบ (“EVIL TAKES MANY FORMS”) หรือภาพสัตว์สีดำอย่างอีกา/กาดำ (crow/raven) รวมถึงฉากป่ามืดกับตะเกียงที่ทำให้ความกลัวมัน “สมจริง” มากขึ้น ท้ายสุด เราว่า The VVitch เหมาะกับการดูซ้ำอีกรอบหลังจากจดศัพท์ เพราะรอบสองจะฟังรู้เรื่องขึ้นและสังเกตการแสดง/บทสนทนาได้ละเอียดกว่าเดิม ใครกำลังหา “หนังชื่อ vvitch” ที่ดูแล้วได้ทั้งประสบการณ์หลอนๆ และได้คลังคำศัพท์อังกฤษแบบไม่รู้ตัว เรื่องนี้คุ้มมากค่ะ
