My Sexuality Discovery Story๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพโ€โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ’‹โ€๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพ

Looking back now, Iโ€™ve always shown signs of being the L in #lgbtq๐ŸŒˆ. I just wasnโ€™t sure if it was like what my birth giver said about all people in the rainbow community. That weโ€™re all โ€œan abomination to God) and that โ€œthe devil had me fooledโ€ as to who I am. However, this steered me away from exploring my sexuality openly for many years of my life. And even affected my relationship spiritually with God when I finally โ€œcame outโ€.

Looking back Iโ€™ve always had a thing for girls/women. More than just in a friendship aspect. My first crush was a girl in second grade. Then it left and came back in 5th grade when I had a crush on my best friend at the time. I always wanted to kiss her but again I just pushed those feelings down and ignored them.

Then sophomore of high school I had a crush on two girls in my grade. However neither them nor myself were โ€œoutโ€ to my knowledge so I never tried anything. When I went to college I finally came out to my friends as #bi and they loved and accepted me like nothing about me changed, because technically for them nothing about me did change. I eventually put myself out there and met this girl that for the fact of it being a long story made me swear off of women for the rest of my life.

This caused me to go back to dating just strictly men but still finding women extremely attractive. As the years went by and I finally moved out of the grasp of the woman that birthed me, I opened myself to the possibility that I may fully like women only. I never had a good relationship with a guy and women obviously were attracted to me as much as I was to them so I gave it a shot and boom, last pride I finally came out as fully #lesbian and was accepted my friends who are my chosen family.

If you read this far and are wondering if you yourself might be apart of the community I say try it. It wonโ€™t hurt itโ€™s a way to self discovery and self love that no one should take away from you!

lol this was long buttttt

... Read moreDiscovering one's sexuality is a deeply personal journey that many navigate throughout their lives. This process often involves grappling with societal beliefs, personal feelings, and familial expectations. Many individuals, much like myself, find themselves unsure of their feelings due to negative connotations associated with LGBTQ+ identities. The struggle for self-acceptance is a common theme within the LGBTQ+ community. Many people experience early crushes that are repressed or ignored due to fear of judgment or rejection. High school and college years often serve as pivotal moments where individuals begin to explore their identities more openly. For many, coming out represents not only a personal revelation but also a freedom from societal constraints and an opportunity for self-love. As individuals begin to embrace their identities, they often find community and support among chosen families and friends. This sense of belonging plays a crucial role in the journey of self-discovery and acceptance. The importance of being authentic cannot be overstated, as it leads to increased self-esteem and a fuller understanding of oneโ€™s true self. Resources like support groups, LGBTQ+ centers, and online communities play a significant role in helping individuals explore their identities without fear. Sharing experiences can also foster solidarity and empower others who might be struggling with their acceptance. It's essential for anyone questioning their sexuality to know that they arenโ€™t alone, and there are countless stories of love, acceptance, and triumph within the LGBTQ+ community.
