Prioritizing Self-Care: My Health Journey 💪🍋

This health journey began with one simple goal: self care. Life as a busy mom, student, and everything in between had me giving my all to everyone else until I realized I couldn’t pour from an empty cup. Taking care of myself is the foundation for everything else in my life.

✨ Mediterranean Diet: My doctor suggested it, and it’s been a game changer now I’ll admit I had my days of course when it’s hard for me every day I not going to have always have a perfect day with sticking to the script. I’ve attached a Mediterranean food list for anyone interested!

✨ Cardio: 30 minutes a day walking, using the elliptical, or biking as I like. The goal? 150 minutes of cardio a week.

✨ Strength Training: Adding light weights tones muscles and boosts metabolism.

✨ Hydration: Lots of water, always!

I don’t aim for perfection I focus on consistency. Losing 1 to 2 pounds a week feels good because I know I’m building healthy habits. Cheat meals? They’re allowed because this isn’t about restriction, it’s about balance see.

This plan was tailored to my BMI, but it’s flexible and can work for anyone looking to prioritize their health.

My weight loss took over 7 months and I’m still working toward my goals it not about how fast you get there.

Making chaos cozy, one step at a time. 🌿❤️

... Read moreSelf-care is crucial in today’s fast-paced world, especially for those juggling multiple responsibilities. To truly prioritize self-care, it is essential to establish a balanced routine that includes both nutritious eating and regular physical activity. With the Mediterranean diet, you can enjoy a variety of delicious foods that promote heart health and overall well-being. This diet emphasizes whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and healthy fats such as olive oil, which are all beneficial in improving both mental and physical health. Incorporating regular cardio workouts such as brisk walking, jogging, cycling, or swimming into your week can greatly enhance your mood and energy levels. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate activity per week, spaced out to make it manageable. Additionally, adding strength training exercises can aid in building muscle mass and improving metabolic health, supporting long-term weight management. Hydration plays a key role in self-care as well; drinking enough water can help with digestion and maintaining energy levels. Remember, self-care doesn’t require perfection. Focus on consistency, make time for yourself, and allow for indulgences occasionally without guilt. Engaging with communities and sharing tips can also inspire and motivate others on their wellness journeys, making self-care a shared experience.
