Photography Moments: Soft Light and Sweet Love at Andaz!!!

With Valerie & Andre, in the prettiest little pockets of light at Andaz 😭

I swear there is just something about shooting at Andaz that always gets me. The lighting there is soooo good — soft, glowy, romantic in the easiest way, like everything is already halfway to a dream before we even start. And every corner feels so calm and beautiful without trying too hard.

Also can we talk about their cute leather stand pls 😭 such a small detail but it added so much charm to the space. I love things like that. The little textures, little touches, little corners that make a place feel warm and personal and memorable.

But honestly, Valerie & Andre made the whole place feel even better.

Some couples are just so easy to photograph because nothing feels forced. The way they looked at each other, laughed, moved around together — everything felt so natural and full of ease. It didn’t feel like we were trying to create moments. It just felt like we were there, catching them as they already were. And I love that so much.

That’s always my favourite kind of shoot. When the light is beautiful, the space is beautiful, and the love is just there in front of you, so quietly and confidently. No need to overdo anything. Just let it unfold.

Taking these felt like one of those reminders again of why I love photographing couples so much. It’s not just about how nice a place looks or how aesthetic the details are, though yes, I will forever be weak for good lighting 😭 It’s that feeling when everything clicks and you can actually feel the softness of the moment while you’re shooting it.

Valerie & Andre, thank you for being so lovely and for letting us capture your day in such a beautiful space. Andaz will always have our heart a little, but you two made it extra special 🤍

... Read moreHaving worked with various couples, I can confidently say that the strength of a shoot often lies in the ease between the subjects. Valerie & Andre exemplified this with their natural interactions, making the photographer's job feel more like storytelling rather than staging. For anyone considering a photoshoot at Andaz, I'd highlight its unique charm—the soft, glowy lighting creates a warm atmosphere that complements every shot. Interesting little details like their leather stand add an organic touch that enhances the personal feel of the photos. From my experience, shoots that flow naturally allow for the most authentic photos. It's not merely about a pretty backdrop or technical setup but about capturing the essence of the couple's connection. This combination of Andaz's ambiance and Valerie & Andre's genuine bond resulted in images that truly tell a story of love and tranquility. Additionally, I appreciate how the setting acts almost like a silent character—calm, inviting, and elegant—making every moment feel special without needing any forced poses or elaborate arrangements. This approach not only respects the couple’s true personalities but also lets the light and environment elevate the entire narrative. If you're looking for a wedding or couple photographer, consider these elements: authentic emotion, natural light, and attention to subtle details. These contribute significantly to creating timeless photos that both you and I will cherish forever.
