For many millennial moms juggling family responsibilities, work, and personal care, finding time and motivation can be challenging. From my experience, the biggest hurdle is often the mental resistance formed around starting ‘tomorrow’ or ‘later,’ which quickly becomes a cycle of procrastination. One technique I’ve found helpful is breaking down workouts into really short sessions—sometimes just 10 seconds or a couple of simple exercises like 12 pulses or quick stretches. This approach lowers the barrier to starting and helps build momentum. It’s a reminder that even the smallest effort counts and can lead to consistent progress over time. Living with ADHD adds another layer to this challenge, as staying focused and motivated can be harder, but using clear, simple goals and rewarding myself has made a difference. Sharing struggles and moments of humor, like the ‘lie I wholeheartedly believe in the moment,’ helps create a supportive community where it’s okay to be imperfect on the fitness journey. If you’re feeling stuck, try setting realistic, tiny goals, keep the workouts fun, and remember that starting is the hardest part. Every step forward, no matter how small, is a victory worth celebrating.
