Adopting a rescue Great Dane like Zoey has been an incredible experience filled with learning and joy. One of the first things I discovered is how important it is to be patient with a rescue dog, especially a large breed like a Great Dane. Zoey was initially shy and cautious but gradually showed her loving and gentle nature as she adjusted to her new home. Great Danes are known for their friendly and affectionate temperament, but they also need proper socialization and training to thrive. I found that enrolling Zoey in a basic obedience class helped build trust between us and gave her the confidence to interact with other dogs and people. Nutrition plays a crucial role in keeping a Great Dane healthy, especially since they are a giant breed prone to certain health issues like hip dysplasia and bloat. I chose a high-quality diet formulated for giant breeds and ensured Zoey got moderate daily exercise to keep her muscles strong without overexertion. Taking care of a rescue Great Dane requires commitment, but the rewards are immense. Zoey has brought so much warmth and companionship into my life, and every day I’m grateful I was able to give her a second chance. If you’re considering rescuing a Great Dane, be prepared for a unique and fulfilling journey that blends patience, love, and dedicated care.

What I do is, I provide a loving stable home with more one-on-one attention than most in order to figure out what the animal needs specifically as every single animal is different. I take on some medical and some behavior within reason because I have to make sure it’s something I can provide for.
