@ Anime NYC 2022 🤍

... Read moreOh my goodness, Anime NYC 2022 was an absolute blast! As a huge fan of Attack on Titan, I was counting down the days, and it truly delivered. Walking into the convention center, you could just feel the electric energy. Everywhere I looked, there were fellow fans, all buzzing with excitement for anime, manga, and especially for their favorite series. One of the absolute highlights for me was seeing how much Attack on Titan was celebrated. I mean, how incredible is it to be at an event where the creator, Hajime Sayama, is being recognized? The 'Kodansha Presents HAJIME SAYAMA' signage really caught my eye and sent shivers down my spine. It wasn't just a name; it was a testament to the colossal world he built. Knowing he was celebrated there made the whole experience feel even more special. I imagined the kind of insights he might share if he held a panel, or the excitement of seeing exclusive artwork from his personal collection. It makes you realize the sheer impact his work has had on so many of us. I spent a good amount of time just soaking in all the AOT-themed displays and merchandise, from detailed figurines to exclusive prints. It wasn't just about buying things; it was about being part of a community that shares so much love for this incredible story and its characters. Seeing bits of Levi in an 'Anime NYC' shirt graphic, along with other characters enjoying sandwiches, just added to the fun and quirky atmosphere. And let's talk about the cosplay! Anime NYC is a paradise for cosplayers, and AOT fans definitely brought their A-game. I saw so many amazing Eren, Mikasa, Armin, and of course, Levi cosplays. The creativity and dedication people put into their outfits is truly inspiring. It got me thinking about all the fun interactions you see at conventions. Have you ever seen or wanted to participate in a 'kabedon' cosplay moment? It's such a popular pose from anime and manga, often used in romantic or dramatic scenes, where one character pins another against a wall with their arm, creating an intimate or intense moment. Imagining an Eren or Levi cosplayer doing a kabedon with a fan or another character always brings a smile to my face. It really adds to the interactive and playful spirit of conventions like Anime NYC, where fans can bring their favorite character dynamics to life. It’s those spontaneous, character-driven moments that make conventions so memorable and allow for unique fan engagement. Beyond the specific AOT moments, the entire vibe of Anime NYC was just fantastic. There were so many panels, artist alleys, and opportunities to connect with other enthusiasts. Every corner turned offered something new and exciting, from exclusive merch to previews of upcoming releases. The roar of the crowd, the vibrant colors, and the shared passion for anime made it an unforgettable experience. If you're an Attack on Titan fan, attending an event like this where Hajime Sayama's legacy is honored is a must-do. It’s more than just a convention; it’s a gathering of passionate individuals celebrating the stories that move us and experiencing them together. I can't wait to go back!
