If u don’t feel like yourself rn, read this

2024/7/6 Edited to

... Read moreI remember feeling completely lost, like I was trying to put myself back together after a major life change, but nothing fit anymore. It was like I had all these *missing pieces*, and no matter how hard I tried to recreate my old self, it just didn't work. That feeling of not recognizing yourself, of having lost parts of who you once were, can be incredibly disorienting and frankly, quite painful. What I've learned on my own journey is that sometimes, the goal isn't to meticulously reassemble the past. It's about accepting that some pieces are genuinely gone, and that's okay. It’s a *transformation*, a painful one sometimes, but a necessary one that leads to profound self-discovery. Instead of frantically searching for what's gone, I started to realize this was actually my chance to *grow*, to truly bloom into the person I was always meant to be. It wasn't about being incomplete; it was about evolving into a stronger, more authentic version of myself. One of the biggest shifts for me was realizing that I am enough right now, just as I am. It's so easy to get caught up in comparing your current self to your past self, or even to others' seemingly perfect lives. But when you're *putting yourself back together*, it's absolutely crucial to focus on self-compassion and kindness. Start with small, consistent acts of self-care. For me, that looked like journaling my feelings without judgment, taking long walks in nature to clear my head, and intentionally reconnecting with friends who truly saw and uplifted me, rather than those who just reminded me of my 'old self.' Another thing that helped me immensely was allowing myself to grieve the person I used to be. It's okay to acknowledge those lost parts and the comfort, familiarity, or joy they brought. This isn't a sign of weakness, but a vital step in processing change. But then, consciously shift your focus to what you can build now. What new interests can you explore? What new boundaries can you set in your relationships or work? What new skills can you learn that excite you? This isn't about backtracking; it's about courageously moving forward, one intentional step at a time, building a foundation for your new future. Remember, this process isn't linear. There will undoubtedly be days when you feel like you're falling apart all over again, when doubt creeps in, and you wonder if you'll ever feel whole. But as the article beautifully puts it, sometimes you're not falling apart, you're just falling into something different, with a new capacity to be beautiful. It's an unfolding, a slow unveiling of a more resilient and beautiful you. So, *keep going*. Trust the process, be incredibly patient with yourself, and embrace the magnificent, evolving person you're becoming. You've got this, and you are far more capable than you know.
