this is true ready for 2026 I feel so lost
It's officially that time of year, isn't it? When everyone starts asking, 'So, how has 2025 been for you?' And honestly, my 'Pov' (point of view) on that question feels really complicated this year. If I'm being completely transparent, I've been feeling a bit lost, and the thought of 2026 looming just around the corner sometimes feels more overwhelming than exciting. I know I'm not the only one experiencing this mix of emotions, and I wanted to share some of my own thoughts and what I'm trying to do to navigate these feelings. First off, it's okay to not have it all figured out. We're constantly bombarded with highlight reels of everyone else's 'best year ever,' and it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking we're failing if our own reality doesn't match up. For me, 2025 has been a year of unexpected shifts and a lot of personal growth, but also a fair share of confusion. I've found that acknowledging these feelings, rather than trying to push them away, has been my first step. It's like giving yourself permission to feel what you're feeling, without judgment. One thing that's really helped me when I've felt particularly directionless is to break things down. Instead of looking at the entire upcoming year, which can feel monumental, I try to focus on smaller, manageable goals for the next week or even just the next day. Maybe it's cleaning out a drawer, starting a new book, or simply ensuring I get enough sleep. These small wins create a sense of accomplishment and can slowly build momentum. I've also leaned into journaling a lot more lately. Just getting all those scattered thoughts and anxieties out of my head and onto paper makes them feel less daunting. It’s a safe space to process 'how 2025 has been for me' without any pressure. Sometimes, just writing down what I’m grateful for, even on tough days, helps shift my perspective slightly. Connecting with friends who also understand these feelings has been invaluable. It’s a reminder that we’re all on our own journeys, and sometimes those paths are winding and unclear. Hearing their experiences and sharing mine makes me feel less isolated. We've even started planning a few small, fun activities for 2026 – nothing too intense, just little things to look forward to. As we edge closer to 2026, my goal isn't to suddenly have all the answers. It's more about accepting the uncertainty and finding strength in the process of discovery. If you're reading this and feeling similarly lost or unprepared, please know you're not alone. Let's approach the new year with compassion for ourselves, focusing on small steps forward rather than giant leaps. We'll figure it out, one day at a time.
