What I asked for vs. what I got…
I walked in full of hope, inspo pic in hand, and told the nail tech, “Just like this, please.” She nodded like she understood the assignment. I relaxed, picturing my hands flourishing with dainty pastel daisies.
Then, the first brushstroke happened. Something was off.
I tilted my head. “Maybe she’s just layering?”
Then came the second flower—wonky, uneven, looking like it had been through something.
At this point, I had two choices:
Speak up and risk the dreaded, “No, no, I fix!”
Trust the process.
Like a fool, I chose trust.
By the end, my nails looked like a school project gone wrong. I paid, smiled, and walked out like nothing happened.
I'll tell you what though, I'm never going back to my cousin again !!
