... Read moreHonestly, I've been there. That feeling of shrinking yourself, biting your tongue, or changing who you are just to make someone else comfortable? It's exhausting. For so long, I felt like I had to mute my passions or dial down my enthusiasm because I was worried about being 'too much' or making others feel insecure. But then I realized, what good is that doing for anyone, especially me, if it means losing a piece of myself? It's truly like the original post says: we have this 'God-given glow' for a reason. And holding it back is like denying a part of your soul. I started to reflect on why I was dimming my light. Was it fear of judgment? A deep-seated desire for approval? Once I understood the root causes, I could start to challenge those ingrained habits and make a conscious effort to change. One huge step for me was recognizing my own inherent value and unique gifts. I started asking myself, 'What would my most confident, authentic self do right now?' Sometimes, that meant speaking up in a group, even if my voice trembled a little. Other times, it meant dressing in a way that truly expressed my personality, not what I thought others expected. I found inspiration in confident visuals, like seeing a woman with voluminous blonde curly hair, wearing a black velvet top, and a multi-layered pearl necklace, exuding a regal and empowered presence. It made me think about how I could express my inner confidence outwardly too, maybe with a bold red lipstick or a statement piece that makes me feel put-together and ready to conquer the day. It's not about being flashy, but about owning your presence and feeling regal in your own skin. That outward expression really helped boost my inner confidence. I also began setting firm boundaries. This was tough! Learning to say 'no' without guilt, or stepping away from conversations that drained my energy, was a vital skill. It wasn't about being confrontational, but about protecting my peace and my energy. I found that the people who truly cared about me respected those boundaries, and those who didn't... well, they probably weren't people I needed to dim my light for anyway. It helped me create space for relationships that nourished my soul instead. Surrounding myself with people who celebrate me, rather than just tolerate me, has been a total game-changer. These are the friends who genuinely encourage my dreams, listen without judgment, and remind me of my strengths when I forget. They don't try to dim their light, so they certainly don't expect me to dim mine. Their belief in me fueled my own. It's a journey, not a destination. There are still days when old habits creep in, and I feel that pull to shrink back. But now I'm quicker to catch myself. I remind myself that my happiness and authenticity are non-negotiable. We truly only get one life to live boldly, and I'm committed to shining as brightly as I can. What about you? What small step can you take today to let your unique light blaze? It's time to truly let that inner queen rise and radiate!
