Part 1 of my lasik journey

Cried for 3 days straight, saved 2 weeks of eye drops. But overall SMILE Pro treatment was great! I could see so clearly almost immediately, could see my relationship clearly too #lasik #clearvisionclinicsg #smilepro

... Read moreGoing through LASIK surgery can be a whirlwind of emotions and physical sensations, as I personally experienced during my SMILE Pro treatment. Before the procedure, the uncertainty and fear of potential complications like blindness really weighed on me. It was a surreal feeling prepping myself, practicing to focus on the green dot as instructed, and trying to visualize the surgery ahead. The night before, I was sentimental, reflecting on the many years of wearing glasses and contact lenses, which had become such a staple in my daily life. On surgery day, encountering other patients heightened my anxiety, especially seeing how serious some looked after their procedures. However, the staff's kindness and professionalism helped calm my nerves. When the laser started, I was amazed at how painless and quick the operation felt — the key was focusing on that green dot even though it was much harder than I imagined. The temporary whiteout was unsettling, as I momentarily feared I had lost my sight, but focusing on small details helped me stay grounded. Post-surgery, even though I cried for three days, which might be due to the eye’s natural reaction or relief, the recovery was smoother than I anticipated. The distress was balanced by being able to see clearly almost immediately after the treatment. The SMILE Pro technique truly feels like a breakthrough, offering not only fast visual recovery but also saving time on post-op care like eye drops. For anyone considering LASIK, particularly SMILE Pro, my advice is to prepare emotionally and practically: understand what will happen during the surgery, manage your expectations, and be patient with the healing process. Having clear vision again is life-changing and impacts many aspects of daily living, including personal relationships, as I noticed in my own journey. This experience has given me not just sight, but a renewed appreciation for clarity and confidence in life.
