Strawberry Cake Recipe

I loved this cake and the fresh strawberries in it!

Cake Ingredients:

✨1 box white cake mix

✨1 (3 ounce) box strawberry jello

✨ 4 large eggs

✨ 1/2 cup sugar

✨1/4 cup all-purpose flour

✨1/2 cup fresh strawberries (finely chopped)

✨1 cup vegetable oil

✨1/2 cup milk

Buttercream frosting:

✨1 cup softened unsalted butter

✨32 oz powdered sugar

✨1 cup fresh strawberries (finely chopped)

✨3 tsp vanilla extract

1.) preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line three 9 inch cake pans with parchment paper and spray with nonstick cooking spray then set aside.

2.) In a large bowl, mix all cake ingredients with an electric mixer until just combined. Make sure to scrape the side of the bowl, increase the mixer and beat for 3 minutes.

3.) Pour cake batter into prepared pans and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes come out clean (20 ish minutes depending on your oven)

4.) Refrigerate the cakes because you want them to be chilled before decorating.

5.) For the frosting, cream the butter at a medium speed. You want it to be PALE yellow and fluffy! Just be patient, I promise. Beat it for like 3 minutes. Add the powdered sugar and beat for 2 minutes. Then add the strawberries. Mix until just combined. You’ll want to put it in the fridges for 5 minutes.

To actually frost it, you’ll have to be patient. It’s messy and that’s okay! You’ll put one layer down, put some buttercream, spread it out, and then refrigerate it. Let it cool for 5 minutes and repeat with all the layers! There won’t be enough to decorate but it doesn’t need it.
