You don’t have to pretend with God.
Even when you’re hurt. Even when you’re angry.
Keep talking to God.
You don’t have to hide how you feel.
He’s not afraid of your honesty — He invites it.
This one hit home for me today.
Have you ever felt like you're standing at a crossroads, gazing into an unknown future, and all you can think is, 'heaven knows how we will get there?' I totally get it. We all face those moments when life throws curveballs, and the path ahead seems completely shrouded in fog. It's easy to feel overwhelmed, even a little bit helpless. In those times, it's tempting to put on a brave face, even when it comes to our faith. But what I've learned, through countless ups and downs, is that you don't have to pretend with God. I remember going through a really tough season, feeling hurt and incredibly angry about how things were unfolding. My prayers felt less like heartfelt conversations and more like frustrated rants. I worried, 'Is this okay? Am I being disrespectful?' But then I stumbled upon some profound truth, much like what's shown in the message: God isn't scared of our raw emotions. He actually invites our honesty. Think about it – even figures like Job in the Bible, they didn't hold back. They expressed tremendous 'irreverency' at times, questioning and lamenting, and what did God do? He allowed it. He didn't scold them for it; instead, He met them in their pain. This shifted my entire perspective. It’s not about being perfectly composed or saying the 'right' thing. It’s about being real. When we're hurting, when we're angry, when we're just plain confused, the key is to just keep talking to God. Don't filter your heart. Lay it all out there. He already knows what’s in your heart anyway. There's no need to try and make fun of God or hide your true feelings. He wants that authentic connection. Sometimes, it feels like our prayers are just bouncing off the ceiling, or we're not 'reading Elijah enough' to find the answers we seek. But the point isn't always about getting immediate answers; it’s about maintaining the connection. It's like the saying, 'just keep swimming.' Even when the current is strong, and you can't see the shore, you keep moving. In faith, even when it feels 'irreverent' or imperfect, you just keep talking. That continuous dialogue, no matter how messy, is what strengthens your trust and helps you navigate those uncertain waters. I’ve found immense comfort in knowing that God understands our human struggles. He doesn't expect us to be perfect. He just wants us to show up, honestly. So, if you’re asking yourself, 'heaven knows how we will get there,' remember this: your journey might be unclear, but your communication with the One who knows all doesn't have to be. Just keep talking. Eventually, you’ll reach that point of deeper understanding and peace, getting to that point of 'I love' – not because you pretended to be okay, but because you dared to be truly, vulnerably you with Him.
