Jesus is GOD
In my journey studying the Bible and the life of Jesus, I have often been struck by the challenges He faced from religious leaders of His time. These leaders accused Him of deriving His power from Satan, particularly when they saw Him heal and perform miracles. This accusation is best known from the passage in Matthew where they claim Jesus casts out demons by the power of Beelzebub, the prince of demons. What I find fascinating is Jesus’ response, which is frequently misunderstood or misquoted. Instead of engaging in direct conflict, Jesus explains that a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. In other words, if He were working for Satan, it would be self-defeating and illogical. His response not only defends His divine authority but also subtly challenges the accusers to reflect on the source of His power, which comes from God. This interaction reveals much about the nature of Jesus and His relationship with both followers and opponents. It sheds light on the spiritual battle between good and evil, emphasizing that Jesus’ works—healings, miracles, and teachings—are manifestations of God’s kingdom. From personal experience, understanding the context of this passage deeply enriched my faith. It reminded me that opposition and misunderstanding often come with living out true faith, but that divine power remains steadfast and evident. Jesus never asked to be part of any earthly group or faction; His question was always about alignment with God’s truth. Moreover, reflecting on this passage helps me appreciate the courage of Jesus’ disciples, who sometimes struggled to grasp the full meaning of His teachings yet learned to trust His mission fully. For anyone exploring Christianity or seeking to understand Jesus’ identity as God, this episode is a profound testament to His divine authority and integrity amid opposition.
