This looks like a fancy holiday dessert but it’s honestly one of the easiest things I make all season. Eggnog crème brûlée made with Southern Comfort Eggnog, a crackly top, and the creamiest center. If you’ve never torched dessert at home, this is your sign.

If you're looking for a stylish yet simple holiday dessert, eggnog crème brûlée is an excellent choice that combines classic flavors with a smooth, creamy texture. Using Southern Comfort Eggnog enhances the dessert with delightful spices and a subtle kick that elevates the traditional crème brûlée experience. One of the key elements to achieving the perfect crème brûlée is carefully heating the eggnog until just simmering—this ensures the custard sets without curdling. Using a water bath when baking is also critical as it gently cooks the custard evenly and prevents cracking. Cooling the custard completely and chilling it for at least two hours allows it to firm up nicely while developing its rich flavor. The final step of sprinkling sugar on top and torching it to caramelize creates the signature crackly sugar crust that contrasts beautifully with the velvety custard beneath. Nutmeg is a traditional spice that pairs wonderfully with eggnog, lending a warm and aromatic note to the dessert. A dash is enough to enhance the flavor without overpowering the smooth custard. When torching the sugar, aim for an even caramelization to get that perfect crackly top without burning. If you don’t have a kitchen torch, you can use the broiler in your oven but watch carefully to avoid burning. This recipe is not only festive and indulgent but also approachable for home cooks trying crème brûlée for the first time. The use of Southern Comfort Eggnog adds a unique twist, making this dessert a seasonal favorite perfect for holiday gatherings or cozy winter nights.
