How many weeks of vacation do you actually get?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, because in healthcare (and healthcare-adjacent roles like mine), rest almost feels like a luxury.

When I worked in dentistry, time off was rare, and even when I did get a few days, I’d spend them recovering, not relaxing.

Now that I work remotely in public health and AI, I technically can take breaks more often… but somehow I rest even less. 🫠

I run a healthcare tech startup and work a second job, so sometimes I catch myself thinking, “Maybe I’ll just rest when everything’s finally stable.” But if we wait for that perfect time, it never comes.

So I’m curious! how many weeks of vacation do you get at your job?

And more importantly… do you actually use them, or do you feel guilty taking time off?
