our master bedroom renders are out!!! 🛌😴

part 2 of renders - here’s a first look into the 3D renders of our master bedroom!! 🛌 for now, we chose the same laminate colors as our kitchen so that the entire house looks more cohesive.

1️⃣ we did a full height L-shaped wardrobe as there is not enough space to do a full panel wardrobe in front of the bed. also consulted our main con on this, but he too advised that walking space may be very tight - we didn’t want to squeeze every time we walked past so settled with a L-shaped one instead!

total length of our wardrobe is around 3.3m, with a bedside niche to charge our phones before bed, put miscellaneous items etc.

2️⃣ we thought of extending the cabinet carpentry to do a built-in vanity table (aka cabinet will be a U-shape instead of a L shape). however, our main con advised against it as he noted if we have kids next time, that will be a useful space to place the baby cot - which was a good point we didn’t think of!!

instead, we will just buy a small vanity table to place opposite the cabinet, so we have the flexibility to move things around next time!

3️⃣ size of bed? we initially decided on a queen size bed - but after hearing the feedback of the friends and colleagues around us, we decided to switch to king instead!

why queen? we felt that it was sufficient space for us and we didn’t face any issues. also, it’ll allow the wardrobe to be a little longer! however, our friends and colleagues kept telling us to get a king size bed to future proof for family planning - there may be times your child may have to sleep with you and in that case, a queen will be really squeezy for 2 adults + 1 kid. after much consideration, we caved and decided to go for a king instead! are you team queen or king bed?

... Read moreWhen planning a master bedroom, thinking through the wardrobe layout is essential, especially in smaller homes. From my experience, an L-shaped wardrobe design offers a practical alternative when space limits a full panel in front of the bed. It creates enough room to move around comfortably without feeling cramped, which was a key consideration for us. We also learned to flexibly balance fixed carpentry with movable furniture. Initially, we considered extending the cabinetry for a built-in vanity, but advice from our builder about future family needs made us rethink. Opting for a separate vanity table allowed us to keep the room versatile — a great tip for anyone anticipating changes like adding a baby cot. Choosing the right bed size can be tricky, too. We started with a queen bed, which seemed sufficient. However, after discussing with friends and family, who shared their experiences about needing extra space when children join, we decided to upgrade to a king size. It truly future-proofs the bedroom for a growing family and improves nighttime comfort. Another practical insight: matching laminate colors across rooms enhances visual cohesion and makes the home feel more put together. This consistency was something we purposely implemented from the kitchen to the bedroom. Overall, combining 3D renders with honest consultations helped us design a master bedroom that balances style, functionality, and future readiness — hopefully, it inspires you to create your perfect space too!

We saved on design fees by doing this
Ngl, it wasn’t easy. Took me months to fine tune because ideas kept changing and we honestly kept clashing in colours. But in no way am I a professional, and I’m fortunate enough to be able to visualise spaces and colours. This was just a way for me to ensure that the entire house flowed se

4 room BTO: Hotel Vibe MBR & Bath Design
Helloooo! I am back with the last part of my house area > MBR and bathroom! We actually hacked the wall between the MBR and common BR to make the MBR bigger so as to cater a long wardrobe in front of our bed. With this, we could also cater a king size bed without compromising wardrobe space.
