As a huge Harry Potter fan, I was absolutely thrilled to finally get my hands on the LEGO Harry Potter 12 Grimmauld Place set (76408)! Like many, I searched everywhere for it, and it was so satisfying to finally find this detailed building model. This set isn't just a model; it's an immersive experience that perfectly captures the magic and mystery of the Black family's ancestral home. What truly blew me away was the ingenious layout and how it mimics the magical transformation of Grimmauld Place. You can display it in its regular "closed configuration" as two brown brick-style buildings, blending in with the Muggle street. But then, with a clever push, it magically opens up to reveal the hidden dark grey building in the middle – just like in the books and films! When it's fully opened, showcasing the three distinct buildings, you really appreciate the thought that went into recreating such an iconic location. The multi-story interior is just packed with incredible detail. Wandering through the various detailed rooms, you'll find so many recognizable elements. There's a beautiful chandelier hanging from the ceiling, and even those eerie skull-like objects displayed inside, adding to the authentic, slightly spooky atmosphere. I love placing my Harry Potter minifigure on the ground floor next to the brooms and other detailed accessories, imagining the Order of the Phoenix meetings taking place. And let's talk about the minifigures! The set comes with an impressive cast, including Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Sirius Black, Nymphadora Tonks, Molly Weasley, Fred and George Weasley, Kingsley Shacklebolt, and of course, Kreacher. For fans wondering about Kreacher's kitchen, while there isn't a dedicated, labeled kitchen, the ground floor interior has plenty of space and accessories that evoke that downstairs service area where poor Kreacher would toil. It's easy to imagine him bustling about, perhaps muttering to himself, near the "detailed accessories" on the ground floor. The orange cat minifigure is also a delightful touch, probably Crookshanks, adding another layer of authenticity.
