The best place in Taiwan to buy souvenirs is a Cultural and Creative Park. These are multi-purpose parks, areas, buildings dedicated to the exhibition and sale of local arts and foodstuffs that vary from stationery to technology to wearable arts to snacks, condiments, and other edible treats. There

Our magnet (and other souvenir) collection from Taiwan! This isn't the extent of it, as we also bought a lot of food, and made some things ourselves too, but if you can see on the wall we collect magnets whenever we travel, and these are the ones that we ended up choosing to take home. 📕 Taiwan

More bad things about Cordis Hong Kong: There were very few power outlets. From memory we were sharing one or two only. More rude service: we asked them if they could cut up some fruit for us. They couldn't (that's fair). We asked for plates, forks, and a knife sharp enough to cut and peel fruit.

Confessions of The Pearl Farm, workshop: there was a lady supervising the tour, who seemed to be a specialist in jewellery, so when we asked her a question on how to get the earrings started, she might have misunderstood and did the whole thing for us! It would have been fun to have made the earrin

Tell us if it's this bad in other places, because we've done what we consider to be a reasonable amount of travel and no other location we've visited to date has had as poor walking etiquette as Hong Kong. Is it the narrow streets and the high population density? Is everyone actually far more relax

24-hour restaurants are never good - or so we thought. We only intended to visit this spot near the Macau ferry terminal because it served pork chop buns at breakfast time, and we're glad that we took the chance. Pork chop bun MOP40 / US$5 We don't know how it compares to others but it has a cr

Is this restaurant worth waiting 3 years? Afghan Restaurant in Christchurch, New Zealand, is known for its unusual operation: it only opens when the owner feels like it, updated every day on a Facebook group named "Is AFG open today?" Despite this, the restaurant has queues more often than not, wit

We don't rank or rate things. It's not possible to capture something as multifaceted as food into a single linear scale, and these are 5 reasons why: 1. Taste is subjective. As are rankings. 2. We don't believe you have to travel out of your way for what someone has deemed "the best". There's g

3 more food souvenirs to pick up when you're in New Zealand because so many of you watched the Makana reel. Here's the thing: NZ foodstuffs are just made with good ingredients, but in essence aren't necessarily unique, or show off NZ's agriculture all that well. They do taste good, and don't have

A must-do in Hong Kong is taking a day trip to Macau, which, while famous for casinos, has plenty of other cultural and gourmet experiences to enjoy. Only about 1hr by ferry from Hong Kong Central, you'll need your passport, but it's a hassle-free process that you shouldn't have to worry too much a

2 must-eat street foods in Hong Kong 1. Stewed beef entrails, known as "ngau zap" (牛雜). Recommended are the mixed entrails and the large intestine. #廟街牛雜 2. Grilled skewers, which at this spot are slathered in a spicy, satay-like sauce. #廟街小食 #hongkong #hongkongtravel

There's a secret dim sum spot in the mountails in Hong Kong, and this is how you navigate it. Okay, so mountain might be an exaggeration, but it would definitely be a bit of a hike to walk up from the Tsuen Wan MTR Station, and it certainly doesn't operate like a typical Dim Sum restaurant so it's
