God hears the broken 🙏🏾🫶🏾
Sometimes, life just hits differently, and you find yourself asking, "Does God even hear me?" I've been there, feeling like my heart was shattered into a million pieces, wondering if my prayers were just bouncing off the ceiling. That's when the weight of my past choices, my 'iniquity in my heart,' started to feel like a heavy blanket, muffling every plea. I remember reading Psalm 66:18, which says, "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me." It hit me hard. It wasn't that God couldn't hear, but that my own refusal to let go of certain things was creating a barrier. God hears the brokenhearted, absolutely, but He desires honesty and vulnerability from us. He wants us to come to Him, lay it all out, and genuinely seek repentance for our hearts, not just say the words. It’s a tough truth, but also incredibly freeing. Once I started to surrender pridefulness and desires that weren't leading me to His light, a shift began. I realized that even when my heart felt like it would be broken beyond repair, God was still there. Psalm 34:19 ESV became a lifeline for me: "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." This divine encouragement reminded me that I wasn't alone in my struggles or my pain. There were moments when I felt like my feet almost slipped, like I was on the verge of giving up on my faith journey. The daily pressures, the temptations, they almost pulled me under. But then I'd cling to verses like Psalm 73:28, which encourages us, "But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge." It's in those moments of drawing near that you truly feel His presence. He carries our burdens, just as Psalm 68:19 reminds us that He daily bears our burdens. Finding renewal isn't a one-time event; it's a continuous process of coming to Him with an open and honest heart. It's about remembering that 'he has risen,' and that resurrection power is available to us for a fresh start, every single day. I've learned to pray for His grace and mercy to wash over me in an overflow, knowing that His love is bigger than any mistake I could ever make. If you're feeling lost or think your heart is too far gone, please know that God is waiting to hear you, ready to offer divine encouragement and renewal. Just come to Him, honestly and vulnerably, and watch how He transforms your brokenness into beauty.
