Didn’t think of trying this until…
Yo-Chi opened its first international outlet back at home - 🌞 Singapore. If you haven’t heard, Yo-Chi, Australia’s self-serve frozen yoghurt and acai dessert chain can now be found at Orchard Central. I learnt from my friends that the outlet offers 10 different yoghurt flavours, which is more than what I got when I stepped into the Melbourne’s store.
I picked the Mango flavour for something more refreshing and also more complementary to the taste profiles of most of the toppings. The froyo was extremely creamy although I did find the mango flavour a little artificial. After getting the froyo from the self-serve machine (where I had difficulties creating that nice whirly shape), it was time to select the toppings. 😙 grapes, lychee, lychee popping pearls and mochi were the ones I selected and oh boy, did they taste fresh! There are Singapore-exclusive toppings such as coconut jelly and mango popping pearls, with the latter making me jealous of my friends back at home. There was also a drizzle bar for warm sauces, pretty much like Yole, but I usually skip those as I find them too heaty for my liking.
Prices go by weight of froyo and the toppings, and it’s A$3.80 and S$3.50 per 100g. With the exchange rate, it’s just about 30c cheaper every 100g. My small bowl cost me about A$14, definitely on the steep side, but for the quality of the froyo and its taste, I can do this treat perhaps once a month? And yes, the next round I visit the store, I might just forgo the fruits and just top it with the popping pearls and mochi, so that I can spend my bucks on more yoghurt instead 🙃
💭 Thoughts:
Price point is worth the taste, and I can see why it might be a hit in SG too.
🤔Would go again?
Perhaps a 🥰monthly🥰 treat
