Free room upgrade, 30% off dining, and more!
Since 2021, we have been Accor Plus members and in 2024, thanks to the 40 nights stay accumulated in 2023, we had our first taste of the ✨Platinum Status✨. (We are still Platinum holders in 2025 because we also met the 40 nights stay requirement in 2024) The key perks that we particularly enjoyed with this status are:

More often than not, the free room upgrade will be given and there were times that we experienced both the early check in and late check out perk. These are offered on non-guaranteed basis for Gold members, so being Platinum really feels different. We also fact-checked this a few times in 2023 when we travelled with our Platinum friend (we were only Gold then) that for the same hotel, they were upgraded while we weren’t.
Of course, Lounge Access is great because we need not book the Suites but still get to enter the lounge where free alcohol and snacks are served (sometimes all day) 🌚 Lounge Access also meant that we get a place to do work, especially if we are still ‘working from home’. This is especially welcomed for Felly right now since she travels and leads pretty much a digital nomad life.
BUT the membership will be undergoing some changes from 1 October 2025, with some perks redefined. Here are some that would impact us the most:
🥺 Changes to ‘free-night’ stay
Previously, our membership comes with 2 complimentary nights that we can redeem as standalone stays. But now, they can only be redeemed if we are staying for more than one night. 👎no more random one-night staycays anymore. But the free night will still be applied for the most expensive night, though I have yet to fact-check this.
🥺 Changes to Dining Discount (refer to last pic for current setup)
As we often dine in pairs, we are used to 50% discount off our meals at Accor Group of hotels’ restaurants. We can enjoy this dining discount even without staying in the hotel. But now, the discount rate will be a flat 30%, regardless of number of diners (up to 10). 👎 not good when I am bringing a friend or two along, but since I am in Aussie now, I shall enjoy the increased discount for 1 pax then!
🥺 15% off hotel rates, but cannot be used on promotional rates
While it was 10% previously, that 10% was ON TOP of the sale rates that non-members see. But now, since the 15% cannot be used on sale rates, maybe we will be better off booking just the sale prices. 👎 more comparisons need to be done these days then.
Of course, the above changes impact all Accor Plus members and are not Platinum specific. Thankfully, the Platinum perks still remain unchanged, giving us motivation to keep this status.
