Coffee run in the neighbourhood 🌸

We enjoy our coffee very much and are currently on a hunt for good beans to go with our new machine and we love it even better when cafes that small, family-owned and run cafes pop up, right here in our backyard!

Sunset Wy is already home to a few cafes and when Grounds on a Hill popped up, we had to go take a look and many sips.

Roasted by the father, poured and served by the daughters, and mother in the backend, this was definitely not just serving up good coffee, but also grounded, familial vibes. ✨❤️

When we went, the owner aka father aka roaster came to chat with us and we learnt that his daughters were taking a gap year to explore this as a family - how cool it is to have a father like that! Heh.

He also said they aim to start selling beans in the near future, so hopefully by the time felly returns to sg for good, she can get some beans here.

Grounds on a Hill offers just that, with rich selections like Tanzania, Colombia, Ethiopia, and their special Geisha semi-washed espresso. Visiting this café isn't just about the coffee; it’s about soaking in the unique family atmosphere. The father roasts the beans, while his daughters serve up your drinks, creating a warm, welcoming vibe that makes every visit special. It's refreshing to support a local business where you can actually meet the passionate people behind your cup. The café also provides delightful sweet options such as sourdoughs and blueberry crumble tarts, perfect for pairing with your coffee. Plus, outdoor seating and a pet-friendly environment make it an ideal spot to relax and unwind. We're particularly excited about their plans to sell coffee beans soon. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy their signature flavors at home. If you're around Sunset Way, be sure to check out Grounds on a Hill—you won’t just get great coffee, but a meaningful experience grounded in family love and dedication.

Finally checked out Sin and Savage Cafe and it was a total sugar rush. We were actually hoping to try their bagels, but a huge heads-up: they don’t sell them after 3 PM, so we missed out on those entirely. Definitely go earlier if you have your heart set on them! For the mains, we went with the

4.9 rating in Google | Coffee Run #27
With a strong 4.9 rating on Google, I had to pop by this coffeehouse nestled in a commercial building (lobby) around CBD. Plenty of seating on a weekday morning with most patrons doing takeaways. At $6 a cup, pricing is reasonable for a flat white in CBD. Coffee is surprisingly strong and fla

$4 Coffee and accepts CDC?! | Coffee Run #20
Coffee leans towards a bolder, slightly bitter profile. Personally, I’d prefer a more rounded taste when paired with milk, but for what it is, it’s still a solid cup. At $4 a cup (promo price – usual is $6), it’s honestly a steal for the quality. Plus, they accept CDC voucher! Space is small,
