On 26 Feb, HEYTEA launched Mochi Yingde Black Milk Tea. And yes, imagine the queue 👀
What you get in one cup:
☁️ Savoury cheese cloud
🫖 Robust Yingde black tea
🍡 Chewy cheese mochi + rice bits
Zee’s take:
🫤 Wouldn’t travel specially island for it, but
👍 Will definitely reorder on “dessert days”
As a basic (read: boring) 0% sugar, classic milk tea purist - he approves the combi. The savoury-sweet flavour works. The mochi + rice bits add texture without hijacking the drink. Most importantly? You can still taste the tea. 🙌
Reminiscent of the Ah Ma Handmade in China - see our earlier post for the review!
Plot twist: It’s been available in Australia since Jan. We were not first movers after all 😅
... Read moreIf you’re curious about the Mochi Yingde Black Milk Tea, here’s what makes it stand out. The tea is brewed using authentic Yingde black tea leaves from Guangdong, known as the “Hometown of Black Tea,” which gives it a unique floral and honeyed aroma that's stronger than usual milk teas.
What I personally enjoy is the handmade cheese mochi and glutinous rice bits added on top. They bring a delightfully chewy texture that complements the creamy and lightly savory cheese cloud. Unlike other cheese teas that might overpower the base, this one balances everything so you can still appreciate the tea’s flavor. As someone who usually prefers classic zero-sugar milk tea, I found that this combination works well for occasional ‘dessert days.’
Another interesting note is that this mochi cheese cloud drink has been available in Australia since January, but it just recently launched in Singapore, explaining the hype and long queues. If you love experimenting with new milk tea flavors or enjoy textured drinks, this might be worth a try!
Aside from the taste experience, it’s great that HEYTEA uses no artificial creamers, flavors, or preservatives. The natural ingredients and real dairy milk contribute to a genuine taste that tea purists can appreciate.
Give it a go if you want to try something different from typical milk tea — it’s a unique blend of savory and sweet with a chew you don’t often get in a cup. I’d recommend ordering it when you want a satisfying treat, especially if you’re a fan of cheese tea or mochi desserts.
