🛋️ Home Reveal Part II — cosy + creative corners

Renovating our very first home has been a journey of learning, experimenting, and finding the sweet spot between his & hers. Our private quarters reflect that balance:

🛏️ A moody, grey-toned master bedroom that feels like a cosy retreat at the end of the day.

💻 A bright, airy workshop with dual workstations, tailored to how we both create and work.

🚿 Bathrooms with character — from dark + emerald subway tiles inspired by boutique hotels, to fresh blue tones that bring a playful brightness.

Every corner was shaped by our different preferences. Designing a first home isn’t just about finishes — it’s about making space for two lives, side by side.

💬 If you’re curious about our reno journey or want to know where we sourced anything, feel free to ask away!

... Read moreRenovating a first home is an exciting yet challenging process that blends creativity with practical living needs. Creating cozy and creative corners involves thoughtful planning, especially when designing spaces that accommodate different personalities and work habits. A moody, grey-toned master bedroom offers a serene retreat after a busy day, emphasizing relaxation through subdued hues and soft lighting. The choice of color schemes, textures, and lighting fixtures plays a crucial role in establishing the mood. For those looking to recreate this vibe, consider layering different shades of grey with warm woods and plush textiles to evoke comfort. The bright, airy workshop with dual workstations highlights the importance of functionality in shared spaces. Designing a workspace that supports different workflows requires custom solutions such as adjustable desks, optimized lighting, and personalized storage to foster creativity and productivity. It also helps to designate specific zones for distinct activities, reducing distractions while maintaining an inviting atmosphere. Bathrooms serve as personal sanctuaries and infuse character through design choices. Dark and emerald subway tiles, inspired by boutique hotels, can create a luxurious feel, while playful blue tones add freshness and vibrancy. Selecting durable, moisture-resistant materials that complement the overall home design enhances both aesthetics and longevity. Ultimately, the key to a successful home renovation lies in balancing style, personality, and utility. Incorporating the preferences of everyone sharing the space makes the home truly reflective of its inhabitants. Don't hesitate to source inspiration from various design styles and mix them thoughtfully to capture a personal yet cohesive look. If you’re embarking on your own renovation journey, remember that patience and flexibility are essential. Embrace experimentation, ask questions, and seek advice on sourcing quality materials. Making your home a comforting and inspiring place takes time but is rewarding once the pieces come together harmoniously.
