My Son ♡
There has never been a greater honor than raising a son. Every single day, I’m reminded that I’m not just raising a little boy,I’m raising a future husband, father, friend, leader, and, Lord willing, a man of God.
I recently heard a TikTok that said, “The world got plenty of tough guys… it’s running short on good men.” Those words have stayed with me because being a good man has nothing to do with being the loudest, strongest, or toughest person in the room. A good man is honest. He keeps his word. He serves others. He leads with humility. He protects without controlling, loves without conditions, and puts Christ above everything else.
One thing I truly believe is that a good man isn’t born,he’s raised. He’s shaped by what he’s taught, what he sees, what he’s held accountable for, and the values poured into him day after day. That’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly.
As Rome’s mama, I intend to raise him as such. I pray he grows into a man after Christ’s own heart, a man who is selfless, dependable, respectful, and courageous enough to do what’s right even when it’s unpopular. I want him to understand that his word carries weight, that his actions should match his promises, and that true masculinity is found in serving others, not demanding to be served.
The world will try to convince our boys that success is measured by money, status, or attention. But in our home, I pray Rome learns that the greatest measure of a man is his character, his faith, and how he treats the people God places in his life.
The world has plenty of tough guys. It’s running short on good men. By the grace of God, I intend to raise Rome to be one of them.
