Online Schooling
My 8 year old and My 16 year old were both at risk of retention halfway through this school year...so we took a leap of faith and decided to #homeschool through Florida Virtual Schooling and I honestly am SO glad we made the switch. They both signed up for 6 classes and have had all As...the entire second semester and as they finish a course it drops off and leaves them with only the courses left needing to be finished. They get to work on their own schedule and don't have to sit down during certain times a day to listen to someone teach them. There are live lessons available and in some cases if you attend them, it'll replace a written assignment...but our days usually consist of knocking out 1-3 assignments for a class or two and then the next day doing the same. We have slide shows we read and interactive practice questions throughout the lessons to test you before you get to your quizzes and assessments. I'm so proud of both of my kiddos because they're almost done with this year and have grown so much since we made the switch! My oldest ended up completing a bunch of classes and adding 9th grade credits she missed out on years ago and is making those up for graduation. In a few weeks she will start her 11th year in school and our youngest will start 3rd grade! If you've thought about making the switch, I highly recommend... especially if you're already a stay at home parent. I've gotten to spend more time with my oldest and youngest daily because of it and reduce their negative influences and sickness being brought into our home, which is a household of 7 🫶 I'm here if y'all have any questions! We are glad we made the switch!!!! #homeschoolmom #follow #bigfamily
