Girl Talk : Is “Clean” Period Supplies a SCAM? 🤔
We have probably all heard of horror stories with all different period supplies. The cup that got stuck, the pad that didn’t catch it all, the tampon that puts chemicals directly inside of you or causes toxic shock syndrome! 😵💫
Sometimes as a period haver, you just have to sit back and wonder, what the heck am I suppose to do?
As if being a girl and dealing with hormones, our ever-changing bodies and periods just are not enough, now even the supplies we rely on to get us through it, is poisoning us?!
In comes the “clean” and “organic” period supplies. Usually in a smaller selection, missing sturdy wings on the pads and costing more for less.
I have been a tampon person for years. Once I got out of pads, I could not stand how they felt. I liked not sitting in anything and the easy clean up.
Then I started hearing how bad tampons are for you - apparently they can even cause heavier cramping and periods?! I tried organic, but the price tag was not sitting well with me, then on top of that, found out they are still using harsh chemicals anyways.. remember ladies, chemicals are technically organic! 😂
So lately I have been trying to wearing pads when I am lighter. I want to think I have less cramping, but who really knows, maybe a placebo effect? Then studies came out pads are just as bad?! So organic it is again?
The only ones I could find had smaller sizes (I would not be able to wear them through the night) and now wings! 🥲
What do you ladies think? Is the “Organic” and “Clean” period supplies just a hoax? Which kind of supplies do you prefer?
My real question - why is this just not the standard for our period supplies? Shouldn’t it all be pesticide free, hypoallergenic, chlorine free and all the things?
I think womanhood might be a bit of a scam at this point! 😂
