Onokoro Island Shrine
Onokoro Island Shrine is said to be one of the traditional places of "Onokoro Island" that appears in "Kuniumi Myth."
It is located on a hill that is said to be a sacred place for the birth of Izanagi no Mikoto and Izanami no Mikoto, and has been revered and loved by Onokoro Island since ancient times.
According to "Kojiki" and "Nihonshoki" (Chronicles of Japan), "The two gods stood on the floating bridge of heaven at the time of the creation of the land, and when they stirred the sea with the marsh spear of heaven, the tide dripping from the spear naturally solidified and became an island.This is Jigoro Island." The two gods landed on this island, built Yahiroden, first built Awaji Island, and then opened Oyashima. おのころ島神社は、「国生み神話」に深く関連する場所として知られていますが、実際に訪れてみると、その歴史的な重みと静謐な空気に心が洗われる思いがします。私は以前、友人と淡路島旅行の際にこの神社へ立ち寄りました。広い駐車場も整備されておりアクセスしやすく、ゆったりとした時間が流れていました。 神話の中で伊弉諾命と伊弉冉命が天の沼矛で海をかき混ぜ、その滴りが凝り固まって島ができたという話を知っていると、境内を歩く間も、その物語が目に見えるような気分になります。丘の上に位置した境内からは、かつての御原入江の面影を想像してしまいました。 また、神社周辺には「自凝島神社」という関連スポットもあり、国生みの伝承を巡る旅として一層充実した体験ができます。歴史愛好家や神話好きの方には特におすすめです。地元の方々からも崇敬を集めているため、訪れる際はマナーを守り、静かに神話の世界に浸ることが大切だと感じました。 さらに、淡路島は「日本発祥」の地とも言われており、その神聖な雰囲気は日本文化や歴史のルーツを学ぶうえでも貴重です。おのころ島神社を訪れて国生み神話を肌で感じることは、単なる観光以上の体験となるでしょう。次回の日 本旅行の際には、ぜひ足を運んでみてください。
