I ended a situationship today!
Tbh I don’t even know where to begin! So I was talking to this dude since April and there was no clear direction to where things were headed. No deep conversations and frankly no moral standing 😂 But for some strange reason I focused on what I considered the good sides of him not because I lacked self confidence but because I truly wanted to be open minded and have “fun” and honestly not think too much.
I enjoyed his occasional company and I liked that he made me laugh and he was so helpful sometimes. And, so I just went with it and convinced myself that It’ll be fine.
Overtime, I recently realized that this was honestly not worth my time and energy. He was some times subtly verbally abusive, emotionally avoidant, and borderline condescending. Kindness and sexual purity was out the window as an option 😂 Plus, he was clearly saying and doing everything that I didn’t want with his actions so I honestly wasn’t sure why I put up with it? Was it fear of starting over? Was it the hope that he’d come to like my personality and mind as he sometimes said and not just my physical appearance? Or was it the pressure from external factors for being single as a 28 year old? lol
After much reflection, I decided that I needed better and that there had to be good men out there that would want to purposefully date. And that regardless of the situation, God’s love for me is evident. I may have liked him, but I LOVE ME MORE! So, I called and respectfully ended the situation and now I feel peace in my soul and I’m moving on to better chapters in my life.
If this is somewhat your story, girl get up. You deserve so much better! And that includes lots of love and happiness and I promise the future YOU would be grateful you made this decision. I’m still going to feel the sting for a bit as I adjust but I know it’ll get better ❤️🩹
