UGC video examples you need in your portfolio✨

You want to have a variety of styles in your portfolio so that you can show clients what you are capable of creating. ... Read moreHey everyone! I totally get it – building a UGC portfolio from scratch can feel a bit overwhelming, especially when you're just starting out. But trust me, once you get a few solid examples under your belt, the opportunities really start flowing! I've been experimenting with different styles, and I've found that having a diverse range of videos really helps clients see what you're capable of. Let's dive a bit deeper into some of the styles that are constantly requested and how you can nail them for your portfolio, even if you're a beginner. First up, Testimonial Videos. These are gold! Clients want to see authentic reactions. When I create a testimonial, I always focus on a clear problem and how the product was the perfect solution. Think about filming in a natural, bright setting – your living room couch (like the woman in sunglasses in one of my example images) or kitchen can be perfect. Speak genuinely, look into the camera, and highlight specific benefits. It’s about sharing your personal story with the product, not just reading a script. Next, Unboxing Videos, especially 'hands only' ones, are super popular. People love the anticipation! For these, focus on smooth, clean hand movements. Make sure your lighting is bright and even, so every detail of the product, like a small red product box or the design of *red-handled paintbrushes*, pops. I usually set up my phone or camera on a tripod directly above a clean, uncluttered surface. The goal is to make the viewer feel like they're unboxing it themselves. Remember to capture the tactile experience – the peeling of plastic, the sound of the box opening. Then there's Green Screen. This one might sound intimidating, but it opens up so many creative possibilities! You don't need a fancy studio; even a plain green sheet can work. The key is even lighting on your green background and yourself to make editing easier. With green screen, you can transport your product anywhere – from a bustling city street to a tranquil beach, or even put yourself 'inside' an app. It's fantastic for demonstrating products that are hard to show in real-life scenarios. And who can forget ASMR? This is all about sensory experiences. The sound quality is paramount here, so invest in a decent microphone if you can. Think about the satisfying sounds a product makes – the gentle rustle of packaging, the soft click of a button, the smooth application of a cream. My tip? Experiment with different textures and surfaces. It’s incredible how a simple sound can create such a strong connection with an audience. Finally, beyond just unboxing, think about general Product Videos where you show 'hands only' usage. These are great for demonstrating features without needing your face on camera. Whether it's showcasing how to assemble a gadget, apply a beauty product, or use a tool like those red-handled paintbrushes I mentioned earlier, clear, close-up shots of your hands interacting with the product are incredibly effective. Focus on clarity and ease of use. For beginners, my biggest piece of advice is to start with what you have. Your phone is a powerful tool! Practice makes perfect, so don't be afraid to experiment with these different styles. The more you create, the more confident you'll become, and the better your portfolio will look. Good luck building that amazing UGC portfolio!
