Tips on pitching to brands📩

Instead of waiting on brands to reach out to you (inbound), you can reach out to the brand yourself (outbound). It can be intimidating at first, but once you get used to it you will be pitching yourself all the time! It is important if you want to make money, because it can really change the scale of your income.

✨Personalize your pitches - You are not the only creator reaching out to brands, so make yourself stand out. Create a pitch template for yourself, that can be easily edited to be PERSONABLE to each brand. You don’t want to send the same exact email to every single brand. Mention something about their brand, and tell them how you want to create for them. Any way you can stand out is great!

✨Provide them with examples *PORTFOLIO* - If you have read any of my other posts, you know how important I say your portfolio is. To have this set up and optimized in a way to show you, your best work, and what you can create is crucial when a brand is looking to working with you. I try to update my portfolio often so that it is always my most updated and current work.

✨Hearing the word No is okay – DO NOT be scared to hear the word no. You are going to and that is seriously okay, it is nothing personal at all. There can be a million reasons why a brand says no to working with you, that has nothing to do with you being soley you…so don’t take it personal. The more you pitch, the more you will hear no and realize it is okay. You want to be pitching to THAT many brands!

This is especially crucial after receiving a ‘no’ - this response might lead to constructive criticism that can refine your future pitches. Networking within creator communities can also provide support and inspiration as you develop your skills in brand pitching. Lastly, establish follow-up routines after sending pitches. A polite reminder note after a week can reinforce your interest and keep the conversation alive. Approach this process with a positive mindset, understanding that each pitch is an opportunity for growth, regardless of the outcome.
