... Read moreIf you've ever bought a foundation that doesn't perfectly match your skin tone, you're not alone. A common issue many face is dealing with foundations that are too orange, red, or just too bright for their complexion. Luckily, color theory provides simple yet powerful solutions to fix these mismatches without having to discard expensive products. One of the best tricks I've learned is using a green color corrector primer if your foundation leans too orange or red. Green neutralizes the redness because it's on the opposite side of the color wheel. For example, the Prisme Libre Primer in green is fantastic for balancing out warm undertones and bringing the foundation's depth down by a full shade. Using this approach means you don’t need to buy a whole new foundation just because of slight undertone issues. On the flip side, if your foundation is too bright or has a yellow undertone that doesn't quite suit your skin, mixing in a touch of a purple tint serum can make a huge difference. Purple counteracts yellow tones, giving your complexion a brightening effect instead of the dull yellow cast that some foundations can leave. The lightweight serum texture also helps your foundation go on smoothly and wear comfortably all day. A real game-changer with these techniques is that the primers and correctors often double as skincare products, containing water and serum bases that hydrate the skin while color correcting. This means you’re caring for your skin as you perfect your makeup look, which is especially helpful if you have sensitive or dry skin. In my experience, experimenting with these color corrections has saved me money and time. By adjusting the undertones of my foundation rather than replacing it, I can achieve a flawless finish that looks natural in different lighting conditions. It also allows for more creativity—if you want a slightly different look for special occasions, color correctors can help you customize your base to match your desired style. If you’re curious to try these techniques, start with a small amount of green or purple primer mixed into your foundation or applied directly on areas of concern. Blend well and build up the coverage gradually to avoid looking overdone. You might be surprised at how well these color theory hacks enhance your makeup game and keep your foundation looking fresh and perfectly matched every day.

We didn’t get a single paint sample.
We didn’t have the luxury of time so we couldn’t get paint samples to try on our walls, we didn’t even go to a single paint shop to see the colours for ourselves. Now, this would usually spell a bad omen since we were going with ONE colour throughout. It was make or break. But here’s what I
