4 Months to get Class 2B (Tips & cost included ✨✅)

Hello Lemon8 girlies!

I've finally gotten my class 2B licence and been riding for 1 month+ now, and I super love it 😍 like love loveeeeeeee

Total cost $1,100 with helmet, gears, enrolment and all the classes!

1. The fun and breeze

it's always been a dream to ride the bike, I tried taking the licence 10 years back but I gave up cause I keep falling down in the figure 8 course.

decided to go for it again, cause I feel I'm mentally ready now!

2. Petrol and maintenance

parking in cbd always cost a lot, like $10+ for a short few hours. but my bike only cost $0.20 per hour, and free cause I have concessionary parking.

the petrol is also 😍 having supper or meeting friends is super convenient now hahaha I can vroom to buy my mala and eat ice cream

Tips 💡

✅️ Always book 2 sessions together - make full use of the cancellation since there's 18 free ones. This will help save a lot of time

✅️ Know what course we are going through before going for the class, have mental preparation. read up online on how to conquer each station. like knowing where's the clutch, throttle and how to make use of figure 8

✅️ book ur simulator but always keep track of cancellation to get an earlier slot. I manage to switch my session from April to Feb, cause I was always looking out for new slots that others have release.

✅️ Finish all theory classes first thing when u sign up

loving my new bike colour!

PS. licence taken in April 2024. I realise this posting has been sitting in my draft... alamak!

... Read moreGetting a Class 2B motorcycle license in Singapore can seem overwhelming at first, but with the right approach, it’s definitely achievable in a few months. One key tip I learned is to book two sessions together each time. This not only saves time but also lets you make use of free cancellations to grab earlier slots, speeding up your progress. Another essential preparation is mental readiness—before every class, I made sure to understand the course content and controls such as the clutch and throttle, which helped me conquer tricky parts like the Figure 8 and Slalom courses more confidently. Watching tutorial videos and reading up on riding techniques in advance can make a big difference. Investing in good quality gear right from the start also boosted my confidence and safety on the road. Remember to wear proper attire during lessons, as this is important for both safety and practical learning. Don't underestimate the simulator training; I kept an eye out for cancellations to reschedule earlier simulator sessions, which helped reinforce my skills. Budget-wise, total costs including enrollment fees, lessons, simulator training, and protective gear came to about $1,100, which I found reasonable considering the convenience and long-term benefits. Parking and petrol costs are much cheaper compared to driving a car, adding to the overall value of becoming a licensed rider. Finally, consistent practice and not being discouraged by initial failures is crucial. I failed my first internal evaluation but used it as motivation to practice harder and refine each skill before attempting again. Staying committed and taking notes from each class helped me remember important pointers, leading up to the traffic police test. If you’re considering getting your Class 2B license, I highly recommend focusing on preparation, scheduling wisely, and staying mentally strong. It’s worth every effort to experience the freedom and joy of riding your own bike around Singapore!
