You can’t never were “too much”
Living authentically often means stepping outside your comfort zone and learning not to dim your light for others. From personal experience, embracing the mindset that you can’t be "too much" is transformative. One of the most helpful strategies has been practicing self-approval regularly—naming qualities I appreciate about myself, no matter how small, and celebrating these wins weekly has built my confidence immensely. I’ve also realized that how others perceive your authenticity is often a reflection of their own insecurities or limited perspectives. When someone dismisses your growth as "selfish" or your dreams as "unrealistic," it helps to remember that this is their projection, not your reality. Using mindful grounding techniques, like pausing to reflect or journaling about these feelings, helps me maintain clarity and protect my peace. Another crucial step is auditing your social environment. Surround yourself with people who uplift and energize you rather than those who guilt-trip or downplay your feelings. Creating a safe space for yourself has been empowering and reduces anxiety significantly. Finally, making small yet intentional moves to express your true self—whether sharing your honest opinion, dressing in what you love, or posting that genuine photo—can feel scary at first. But most of the time, the fear is worse than the reality. Giving your fears a name and journaling dialogues with them has helped me face discomfort head-on and grow stronger. Remember, growth is a journey, and learning to be "too much" is actually learning to be enough in your own eyes.
