a little post for my baby girl
I miss her extra today.
When I got the call that she passed, I had been moved out of my house for about 3 months. I visited maybe 6-10 times, but I made sure to give her extra attention every single time. The last time I saw her, she followed me to my old room. I closed the door, and she wouldn't stop staring at me with her old eyes. All of a sudden, tears were flowing down my face. How could I leave my best friend behind? How will I know when she's about to go for good? I dropped to my knees and hugged her tight. She nuzzled her head into my neck.
I might be crazy, but I'm sure that was her goodbye. She was ready to go, but I knew/know that I wasn't ready for it. I desperately wish I could go back and hug her longer, tighter. However, I know that we had a great time together. I grew up with the smartest, funniest, and kindest (ish) dog. I thank God every day for my gift called Blu.

Activities like creating a scrapbook, writing letters to our pets, or even setting up a little memorial can be wonderful ways to celebrate their lives. Moreover, engaging with communities who understand this grief—such as online forums or support groups—can provide much-needed solace. I invite anyone navigating this difficult journey to seek support, share your stories, and allow the memory of your beloved pets to reside in your heart forever. In remembrance of sweet Blu, I will forever hold her memories close.
