... Read moreWow, it still feels a bit surreal to type this, but I've officially hit 103lbs! 🎉 It's been an incredible journey, and seeing that number on the scale really puts things into perspective. I remember when I started, the goal felt so far away. Now, looking at myself and how my clothes fit, it's just amazing. I mean, these black cargo pants that used to be snug are now incredibly loose-fitting and practically swimming on me! It's one of those moments where you realize just how much your body has transformed.
It wasn't always easy, let me tell you. There were days filled with frustration, moments of doubt, and times when the scale just wouldn't budge. But consistency truly is key. I focused on making small, sustainable changes rather than drastic overhauls. My biggest shift was probably in my eating habits. I started prioritizing whole foods, lots of fruits and veggies, lean proteins, and really paying attention to portion sizes. Less processed stuff, more home-cooked meals. Meal prepping became my best friend – it saved me so much time and kept me on track during busy weeks.
Exercise also played a huge role. I found a routine that I genuinely enjoyed, which made it much easier to stick with. For me, that meant a mix of strength training a few times a week, some cardio like brisk walking or cycling, and incorporating more movement into my daily life. Taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking a little further away, even just standing up and stretching every hour or so. Every little bit truly adds up over time.
Beyond the number on the scale, the biggest wins have been these non-scale victories. There's nothing quite like trying on an old pair of jeans and realizing they're baggy, or needing to cinch your belt extra tight because your waistline has shrunk. The picture of my legs in those loose-fitting black cargo pants, with the seatbelt fastened, perfectly captures that feeling for me – a stark reminder of the progress. My energy levels are through the roof, I sleep better, and my confidence has soared. It's not just about looking different; it's about feeling different, healthier, and stronger.
For anyone else out there on their own #weightlostjourney, my biggest advice would be to be patient and kind to yourself. Celebrate the small victories, learn from the setbacks, and remember why you started. Don't compare your journey to anyone else's – everyone's path is unique. Find what works for you and stick with it. Hydration is key, get enough sleep, and don't be afraid to ask for support, whether from friends, family, or online communities.
What's next for me? Now that I've reached this significant milestone, my focus is shifting towards maintenance and building even more strength. I'm excited to explore new fitness challenges and continue nourishing my body in a way that feels good. This isn't the end of a journey; it's just a new chapter. Thanks for being here and cheering me on every step of the way!
