I was asked a few months back for a post like this. I will improve it w/ more visuals but for now - here is my ADHD-friendly bedroom cleaning guide to help you stay focused and organized 🤗
Remember - I have priority worksheets and time management guides posted already! I wish I could link 🔗 them here, but if you scroll down you’ll see
👉 “ADHD Scaffolding” and “Time Management Techniques for ADHD”…
👉 Grab a trash bag, a timer (if needed), a dry rag, disinfectant (if needed), and a “smell good” for fragrance - and let’s gets started ~
🧚🏼♂️Set a timer: Break down the cleaning process into manageable chunks of time, such as 15-20 minutes, and set a timer to stay on track. Play some music in the background to energize you!
🧚🏼♂️Make your bed: A made bed can make your room look neater instantly. You can either strip the bed and put fresh sheets on; or shake out your sheets blankets, spray with skin safe fabric refresher, and let air dry.
🧚🏼♂️Clutter and trash: Begin by picking up any clothes, books, or other items on the floor or surfaces, and putting them away. Pick up all trash and put in trash bag.
🧚🏼♂️ Dirty Dishes: pick up all dishes, cups, silverware from bedroom (if applicable) and take them to the sink. We will do the dishes later. Grab your rag and let’s get back to the bedroom.
🧚🏼♂️Tackle surfaces: Wipe down surfaces, such as nightstands and dressers, with a cleaning spray and a microfiber cloth. Tackle fan blades, the backs of games consoles and tvs, the doors, handles, and knobs.
