🤦🏻‍♀️ is weird bullying back on L8?

😞 So I had this random user start being aggressive to me out of nowhere.

⏰ They literally waited an hour tonight between comments to see if I’d reply 😳 that’s so weird and strange.

🤔 It’s also sad bc obv this person has something going on with them. They are using the internet as an outlet and deciding to harass and monitor their “victims” instead of using L8 to feel better, get tips, have fun…

👀 Weird. Internet is weird. All we can do is block them but it’s still creepy!!

... Read moreIt's so disheartening to see how easily negativity can creep onto platforms like Lemon8, as my fellow Lemon8er shared. I've often wondered, 'Is this just someone having a bad day, or is it actual cyberbullying?' It's a question many of us ask, especially when encountering those 'random bullying comments' that can sometimes feel 'almost bot like,' making you question if you're even dealing with a real person. Let's talk about 'trolling.' Based on experiences I've heard and read about, a common example of trolling is when 'someone posts an angry and sarcastic comment on a photo you posted online, intended to publicly hurt and embarrass you.' It's not just a disagreement or a difference of opinion; it's an intentional act to provoke a negative emotional response and disrupt the online community. They might even wait an hour for a reply, just to keep the negativity going, much like the original post described. It's truly a 'weird' side of the internet that none of us want to face. But cyberbullying isn't just trolling. It can take many forms, some even more insidious. For instance, 'someone creates a fake profile pretending to be you on a social media site.' This is a serious form of identity theft and impersonation that can severely damage your reputation and emotional well-being. Another alarming tactic, and a gross violation of privacy, is when 'someone takes a screenshot of a private photo you sent to them on a messaging app and sends it to lots of other people.' This can have devastating consequences and is a clear breach of trust. So, what can we do when faced with such online harassment here on Lemon8? First and foremost, remember that it's rarely about you. As the original poster wisely noted, often 'this person has something going on with them.' Don't engage. Engaging often feeds the troll and gives them the attention they crave. Instead, the most immediate steps are to block the user. Lemon8 also has reporting features – if you see 'random bullying comments,' use the 'Ask Lemon8' feature or report it directly through the platform. Documenting evidence (like taking screenshots) can also be helpful if things escalate. Moreover, review and protect your privacy settings to control who sees your content. It's important to remember that while the internet can be weird, platforms like Lemon8 are meant for connection, inspiration, and positivity. Don't let a few negative interactions ruin your experience. Reach out to friends, family, or even the supportive Lemon8 community if you're feeling down or unsure how to handle a situation. We're here to share tips, have fun, and make each other feel better, not to harass or monitor. Let's keep Lemon8 a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

I’ve had it happen more on Luther socials like facebook. But I have seen it on here as well. It’s tough because there will always be people who try to make others feel bad. I hope you’re okay. I know it makes me anxious when it happens. You know who you are, you deserve kindness. Don’t let them dull your shine.

I have not experienced bullying on this app. I’ve experienced some weird comments of them asking me for my information but other than that this app to me has been very peaceful.
