As a trained LMT, I am often asked “is Gua Sha for real?” or “does lymphatic drainage actually help my skin?” And my professional and medical answer is YES. As a board certified LMT I have been trained in lymphatic drainage AND eastern medicine theory. Always begin at the collarbone before working on your face. The collarbone (clavicle) area contains major lymph nodes where fluid ultimately drains, so opening this pathway first allows the fluid from your face to have somewhere to go. Use gentle pumping or circular motions at the base of your neck for 30–60 seconds
